Congratulations Student Winner! On March 27th, 2011, Ron Cole’s student, Arthur Silverstein won 1st place honorable prize at the International French Piano Competition in Vertou, France.

Concert – Ron Cole’s student, Jeremiah Trujillo, will be performing a solo recital on Friday, Feb. 11th at Old City Hall in Redding. The concert begins at 7:30pm and the program will include:

Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition

Schubert Impromptus Schumann Tocata

Refreshments will be served following the performance. The concert is sponsored by the Performing Arts Society. Admission is free and donations are appreciated.


Student Recital – Students of Ron Cole will be performing Friday, October 30th at 7pm at Old City Hall in Redding.

Highlights of the evening will include Rachmaninov’s 2nd Piano Concerto (first movement) played by Dr. William Ruess and Beethoven’s 1st Piano Concerto (first movement) played by Juliana Dragten. Orchestra accompaniment will be played by Ron Cole. In addition, Jeremiah Trujillo will be playing Liszt’s Un Sospiro Etude. Reception to follow.


Jeremiah Trujillo wins the 2009 North State Symphony and 2009 Kruschke Competitions.

Jeremiah Trujillo, a long-time student of Ron Cole, recently won the 2009 North State Symphony Music Contest: Collegiate Division at CSU Chico. He played the first movement of the Khachaturian Piano Concerto, and will perform the same piece with the full orchestra in September of this year.

Jeremiah had previously won the junior division of this competition in 2004.

Jeremiah also won first prize in the 2009 Earl and Marilyn Kruschke Piano Competition. He played three Scarlatti Sonatas and the Schumann Tocata. First prize was $2000.


Master Class with Frederick Moyer – Thursday, April 23rd at Shasta College, Redding, CA.

Students of Ron Cole will be attending a piano master class taught by world-renowned pianist Frederick Moyer at Shasta College.


Former student, Sara Barnett, is attending Walla Walla University in Washington State, where she is a double-major in piano and voice.


Premiere Performance of “The Creation”, a string quartet by Ronald Allen Cole – March 14th, 2008 at 7pm. Old City Hall, 1313 Market Street, Redding, CA.

Performing Arts Society concert series: Ronald Allen Cole’s string quartet, “The Creation” performed by concert master of the North State Symphony, Terrie Baune and other Bay Area musicians.

Also on the program, students of Ron Cole will play major piano works of Schumann, Gershwin, and Chopin. Performers include Jeremiah Trujillo, Sara Barnett, and Juliana Dragten. A reception will follow.
